This project is a solo-developed game prototype created during my first year of learning game programming. It serves as a demonstration of AI systems and final game mechanics. The art assets were primarily used for testing and experimentation, as the focus was on programming and design.

Development Duration: The project was developed over a period of 3 months, during which I dedicated time to learning and implementing core game development concepts.

What I Learned:

  • AI Programming: Gained hands-on experience in designing and implementing AI behaviors, including pathfinding, decision-making, and state machines.
  • Game Mechanics: Developed a solid understanding of prototyping and refining core game mechanics to ensure they are engaging and functional.
  • Problem-Solving: Improved my ability to debug and optimize code, as well as troubleshoot technical challenges independently.
  • Time Management: Learned to balance learning new skills with the demands of solo development.

My Contributions:

  • AI System: Designed and programmed all AI behaviors from scratch, ensuring they were dynamic and responsive to the player’s actions.
  • Game Mechanics: Prototyped and implemented the final game mechanics, focusing on creating a fun and functional gameplay experience.
  • Art Assets: Created and tested placeholder art assets to visualize the game world and mechanics, even though art was not the primary focus.
  • Solo Development: Managed all aspects of the project, including coding, design, and testing, which helped me develop a well-rounded skill set in game development.

This project was a significant milestone in my journey as a game developer, allowing me to apply my newfound knowledge and build a strong foundation for future projects
